Uzbek boxer Azizbek Abdugofurov became the new REN TV Fight Club champion by defeating Russian boxer, the WBA Gold belt owner Fedor Chudinov by unanimous decision. According to REN TV, their fight became the tournament highlight in Vegas City Hall. Our correspondents were there and shared details.
Holding off his opponents opening burst, Chudinov tried to work as number one. But Abdugofurov was more effective, more accurate and faster, making brilliant attacks. The Uzbek fighter fought in the clinch more often in the second half of the round.
The fight kept the audience on the edge of their seats until the last round. The culmination was the dynamic combinations from Fedor. Abdugofurov was finishing the fight with his last breath, albeit conducting counterattacks.
By unanimous decision - 97-93, 98-91 and 97-92 - Azizbek Abdugofurov became the winner and new owner of the REN TV Fight Club championship belt.
The boxer Chudinov admitted that the opponent was faster than him.

Chudinov said he felt fine. He also pointed out that such was boxing and the defeat had not been his first.
“Ill rest, catch up on sleep, then well review the fight and learn from this experience,” the athlete concluded.
He also noted that he knew the opponents strength - he was faster, so there was no time to hesitate.
"I was just targeting for the first two rounds and then I began attacking more actively," Chudinov explained.
Boxer Alexander Povetkin said he was supporting Fedor Chudinov at the REN TV Fight Club Super Series. Chudinov was defeated in the ring by Uzbek boxer Azizbek Abdugofurov.
"The fights are competitive. I liked, of course, the last fight (Chudinov and Abdugofurovs fight. - REN TVs note). I was rooting for Fedor, but I think everything was fair," Povetkin said.
The State Duma member and athlete Nikolai Valuev, who was the host of the boxing evening, admitted that he could not support anyone.
“I couldnt root for anyone because I was not allowed. We comment on everything that happens in the ring. The fights were especially good in intensity," Valuev said.
On Friday evening, April 29, the REN TV Fight Club tournament was held at the Vegas City Hall in Moscow. Four fights were held as part of the boxing evening. The highlight was the fight between Azizbek Abdugofurov and Fedor Chudinov, which ended with the Uzbek athletes victory.
